FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your Questions, Answered

If you’ve never visited a professional Reflexologist before, you’re bound to have lots of questions. Below, you’ll find a list of several frequently asked questions. Alternatively, contact me today for more information.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT?

  • For reflexology treatments you will remain fully clothed, you need only remove shoes and socks for your foot reflexology treatment.

  • I do ask that you wash or freshen your feet before your treatment, I can provide water wipes to do this if necessary.

  • When having a treatment in your own home, I suggest considering in advance where exactly you would like to have the treatment - a quiet room where you will not be disturbed is best. I will need a bit of space for the reclining treatment chair and the therapist's chair.

  • You may wish to get a glass of water ready - many people find that they finish the treatment feeling thirsty, and anyway I always advise to drink plenty of water after a treatment.

  • Put your phone on silent if possible, so you can make the most of your treatment time without interruptions.

  • You may also wish to select some relaxing music that you enjoy for during the treatment.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY SESSION?

  • Your appointment will typically last for around 75 minutes in total for a 50 minute treatment but can be longer or shorter if you have requested and booked a bespoke treatment length (and your first session will be longer - see below). I suggest allowing for at least 75 minutes in order to avoid having to rush immediately into another appointment or obligation.

  • Every treatment begins with a medical history – at the first appointment this will take slightly longer as we will discuss this in more detail (or I may schedule a call with you in advance). In subsequent appointments we will mainly discuss any updates.

  • You will remain fully clothed and only need to remove shoes and socks (for foot reflexology).

  • I will only use the gentlest of products on your feet (or hands), and can even undertake the treatment without applying any products at all if you prefer. Please make sure you advise me of any allergies.

  • You will be in a reclined position in my special chair while I work on your feet.

  • The treatment is very relaxing and many people find that they drift off to sleep! Please feel free.

  • It is typically a quiet treatment – I will check in with you to make sure you are comfortable, but the treatment is intended to be as relaxing as possible, so we will only chat if you wish to. Of course, if any areas are particularly sensitive or uncomfortable, please don't be shy - let me know.
    •    I will work on each foot (or hand) in turn with gentle but firm pressure techniques. There are different zones on each foot (hand), so do not be surprised if the treatment feels different on each foot (hand).
    •    After the treatment is finished, I will provide feedback on the treatment and ask for yours in return. Based on the findings, I will recommend a Reflexology treatment plan, which of course is entirely at your option.

WHY DO I NEED TO PROVIDE MY MEDICAL HISTORY?

The medical history enables me to tailor the treatment to your individual needs and ensure that the treatment is safe for you given your medical condition. Please note all records remain confidential in accordance with GDPR. Please see the Privacy Notice for more details.

Without a medical history, treatment cannot be provided.

WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER?

My home base is in Cobham (KT11) and I cover areas up to 30 minutes’ drive away, including Oxshott, Ashtead, Leatherhead, Epsom, Esher, Claygate, Walton, Weybridge, Bookham, Fetcham, Effingham and Dorking. If you’re not sure whether I would cover your area, just drop me an email and ask!
